The power struggle we see in the Democratic Party over President Joe Biden’s spending (and tax) bill is not between the moderates and the socialists of the big government. It is between the timid socialists of the big government and the more daring.
There are no more moderates in the Democratic Party. In August, all Democrats in the House and Senate voted to go ahead with Senator Bernie Sanders’ $ 3.5 trillion spending bill – which is actually $ 5.5 trillion when it is evaluated honestly. And every one of them voted for the $ 3 trillion tax hike to help pay for it – every one of them.
After billions of dollars in supposed emergency spending over the past two years, the current argument is not whether we’re going to spend $ 3.5 trillion or spend nothing. The fight is between $ 3.5 and $ 1.2 trillion. The final bill, which could get the votes of the so-called moderates, is likely to be $ 2 trillion.
Only in Washington, DC, would a $ 2 trillion expansion of an already oversized government be characterized as moderate.
BIDEN LACK OF MANDATE TO OBTAIN BERNIE SANDERS NATIONAL AGENDA VIA CONGRESS
Only in Washington would it make sense to pay special interest groups with billions in new spending at a time when inflation is rapidly heading to new highs. Since inflation is a tax on all Americans – and hits poorer Americans harder – the Biden administration and Democrats in Congress are poised to create economic and political catastrophe for themselves.
President Biden has always said his goal is to “transform America”. The massive big socialist government bill is indeed a key step towards transforming America into a European-style socialist welfare state with one big government dominating everything.
Clearly, transforming America was Senator Sanders’ goal when he drafted the $ 3.5 trillion bill. In his own words: “This is the most important law for workers since the 1930s.” He concluded: “We can move this country forward in a very different and positive direction.”
SEN. SANDERS SAYS ITS INITIAL T $ 6T ‘TOP LITTLE’ SPEND PACKAGE SUPPORTS AMERICANS FOR ‘OUR STATUS’
Of course, for most Americans, a Vermont socialist’s idea of ââa positive leadership can be quite frightening. It is a step away from individual opportunity and the right to seek happiness independent of government controls. It is a step towards a large government system controlled by the bureaucracy that defines choices and dictates behavior.
Sanders, after all, was so deeply attached to the system of centralized government control that he spent his honeymoon in the Soviet Union. When someone from the woods of Vermont chooses the woods of Russia on the sunny beaches of the Caribbean for their honeymoon, it diffuses their commitment to “true faith.”
The degree to which mainstream socialists have replaced mainstream Democrats has started to weaken, and this poses a profound danger to Democrats in 2022.
SINEMA HUNTED IN THE BATHROOM FOLLOWING MONTHS OF LIBERAL MEDIA PRESSURE AGAINST ARIZONA DEMOCRAT
In recent polls, free market capitalism is preferred over big government socialism by 59% to 16% (among swing voters, it is 82% to 18% for free market capitalism). Moreover, from 69% to 31%, swing voters already believe that the radical wing of the Democratic Party dominates and now defines this party.
No policy supported by just one in six Americans can be supported. This is the fundamental reality of the drama unfolding in Washington.
As Americans realize how accurate it is to describe Sanders’ bill as great government socialism – and how politically powerful it is to attack great government socialism – many Republicans are speaking out.
Former Vice President Mike Pence said: “This freight train of socialism from big governments, which may be priced at $ 5.5 trillion – probably many times in the end – is just a yet another example of this kind of policy which is really stopping everything and represents a failure of the leadership of the administration, the president and the future former speaker of the House. “
Citing the litany of disasters Biden led at home and abroad, Republican House Leader (and future Speaker of the House) Kevin McCarthy said: “Democrats want to enlist a bureaucratic army to achieve their goal of a great socialist government “.
Former National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow told Sean Hannity: “The problem with the Biden group is that they believe in government, they believe in great government socialism and they don’t believe in the capitalist system. of free private enterprise. “

Wyoming Senator John Barrasso accused Democrats of being “on the way to great government socialism.”
Senator Kevin Cramer recently discussed “the socialist agenda of the great government of the democrats” with the North Dakotas at a political summit.
Former Governor Scott Walker said âThe facts clearly show that free market capitalism is better than great government socialism. There is no dispute. But the radical left does not want our young people to hear the truth.
Tennessee Representative Tim Burchett said: “Joe Biden and the far left are trying to intimidate moderate Democrats into voting for a big $ 3.5 trillion government social package.”
Louisiana Representative Mike Johnson said: “As Democrats haggle behind closed doors this afternoon over how many TRILLIONS of YOUR taxpayer dollars they want to spend on their huge socialist dreams of great government, remember they are playing with a REAL FIRE that would destroy our economy and the future of your children. “
Pennsylvania Representative Dan Meuser said: “Democrats want unlimited borrowing power to fund their grand government socialist agenda, letting the American people pay for their flawed policies in more ways than one. “
